PRE-ARRIVAL NOTIFICATION |
|
Required under Act A1316 Merchant Shipping (Amendment and Extension) Act 2007 Section 249o (1), every master of a ship shall report to the Maritime Transport Security Officer before entering any designated marine facility within a maritime transport security area in accordance with the prescribed procedures. |

MEASURES TO PROHIBIT OR RESTRICT ENTRY FOR SHIPS | |
The following type of ships are prohibited or restricted to enter port/marine facility if no International Ship Security Certificate is onboard. | |
1. | Ship carrying Dangerous cargo Class 1 and 2. |
2. | Ship carrying Class 3 and 4 if the ship has no security assessment or security plan. |
3. | Ship carrying Prohibited goods under UN Security Council/Resolution onbord. |
FOR OTHER SHIPS THAN ABOVE, THE FOLLOWING MEASURES ARE TO BE TAKEN | |
4. | The ship is required to anchor at the allocated area upon arrival or if berthed, to be isolated. |
5. | Security inspection to be conducted by Maritime Transport Security Officers and / or Marine Facilities Security Officers. |
6. | Complete a Declaration of Security (DOS) with the ship. |
7. | Tankers and bulk carriers which are dependent of tugs for berthing/un berthing, MFSO to obtain assurance availability of tugs throughout the ship stay in port. |
8. | No shores leave for crew unless approved by Maritime Transport Security Officers and / or Marine Facilities Security Officers. |
9. | If no crew trained as SSO, MFSO to consider utilizing on-shore security personnel for keeping gangway watch. |
